In January 2016, Homegrown Bistro opened its doors in the Village of Orchard Park. Homegrown offers breakfast and lunch service seven days a week with vegetarian and gluten-free friendly menu options.
Owner Katie Gordon is a Lackawanna native with a passion for the food service industry. She earned her degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Niagara University’s College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and then relocated to Washington, D.C., for nearly a decade, working in management at various country clubs as well as part of the catering team providing services to the corporate hospitality tents at the Golf U.S. Opens from 2013-2015.
Now that she’s returned to her roots in Western New York, she’s following her dream of running her own restaurant. The name Homegrown comes from a combination of her “homegrown” love for the region and the bistro’s focus on locally sourced, minimally processed foods.
Homegrown replaced the former Two Sisters Café in the Barrington Professional Centre, 4211 North Buffalo St.
